IX opens Asian office

As of June 1st, 2018, the wind power consultancy and engineering company IX Wind, formally known as Independent eXperts, has opened an office in Taipei, Taiwan.

Although the main office remains situated in Leiden, the Netherlands, IX has expanded to Taipei, Taiwan. With this new office, IX Wind strives to be closer to its clients in Asia, offering better and shorter communication lines. This re-enforces their payoff ‘Bridging worlds in wind’.

Ms. Paris Tzou, who is originally from Taipei, shall be building and coordinating the IX Asian team from the new office. The primary focus off the office shall be to serve the Taiwanese wind power market, which is highly accelerating now. It is also expected to be more convenient for the Japanese and Chinese relations. With this move, IX fully commits itself to the future of Taiwan as a hub of offshore wind.

IX Wind’s experiences in Taiwan go back to 2012, when several team members started to work as technical advisor on the Formosa 1 Offshore Wind farm, of which the first phase was realised in 2016. To date, this is the first and only operating offshore wind farm in Taiwan. However, as the government announced, another 6,700MW of installed capacity (on- and offshore) is to be realised until 2025.

The new office is located on the 18th floor of the Hsin Ji building in Taipei, merely 300 meters from the famous Taipei 101.

IX’s team of consultants has a proven track record in due diligence, acting as owner’s engineer and analyses and improvement of operational power plants. IX supports clients with expertise in all wind power plant life stages: Development, Construction and Operation, on and offshore and bridges the gap between technical, commercial and legal matters.
