The most economic combination of wind turbine, civil and electrical infrastructure and service and maintenance must be found for the local wind resource and environmental circumstances. This, while meeting HSE, permit, legal, financers’ and other stakeholders’ requirements.
In offshore wind, the complexities of the environment, installation and logistics process, technical requirements and large interests require even more consideration. The many different interfaces and communication challenges need to be addressed. Project risks are of an entirely different magnitude and require dedicated management.

Financial modelling
IX has experience with preparing and maintaining the (technical) financial model for planning and budgeting on- and offshore wind power projects. For this purpose, we have developed our in-house model and make use of experience gained in both European and Asian (offshore) wind power projects. Besides traditional CAPEX, OPEX and disbursements of payments and revenues to optimise the IRR and business case, IX utilizes SOMOS.

Wind Turbine selection
IX support in shortlisting different wind turbine options that are most suitable to the wind power project. Not only price, also technical suitability, performance, track record, conditions of contract and maintenance requirements are considered. Furthermore, we ensure compliance to permits (e.g. sound emission, shadow), grid requirements and other requirements.
We base ourselves on many years of experience with different manufacturers, turbine models and forms of contracts in a variety of sites.
For new or unknown wind turbine technologies, IX performs a technology evaluation to reduce risks and increase certainty on O&M costs.
O&M Concept
The O&M strategy is prepared in close cooperation with the project sponsor, financers and other stakeholders. Should the power plant have a full service agreement, be fully services in house or something in between? The strategy must fit technical and site boundary conditions as well as requirements from permits and other legislation.
